Hey everyone, it’s been radio silence from me for almost a month… But I can finally tell you why!
GM Tools for Daggerbrain
TLDR Here’s what’s new: Encounters, a new Campaign Dashboard, campaign private notes, Dice Log, and Homebrew support for classes, subclasses, ancestry cards, community cards, domain cards, custom domains, adversaries, environments, and more. Along with many bug fixes.
This is a big update making Daggerbrain viable not only for players, but also GMs who need to manage their players, adversaries, environments, countdowns, fear, homebrew, and more. So without further rambling, here are the details:
Homebrew Expansion
Homebrew now supports almost anything you will need in your game! Create custom classes, cards, adversaries, environments, and equipment that can be shared with players in your campaign using the Homebrew Vault in your campaign.

Encounters
Daggerbrain encounters allow you to create encounters for your games with customizable adversaries and environments, roll dice, and track the HP, Stress, and Conditions of your adversaries. Finally, there is some competition to Freshcutgrass :D (by the way, shoutout to the creators of Freshcutgrass, their encounter builder is great as well and was a huge inspiration).
Battle Points Calculator. The encounter builder uses the guidance from the Daggerheart SRD for building balanced encounters using Battle Points. You can find a full breakdown of your encounter by clicking on the battle points button on the top right.
Building Balanced Encounters
When planning a battle, start with [(3 x the number of PCs in combat) + 2] Battle Points and make the following adjustments:
- -1 for an easier or shorter fight
- -2 if you’re using 2 or more Solo adversaries
- -2 if you add
+1d4(or a static+2) to all adversaries’ damage rolls- +1 if you choose an adversary from a lower tier
- +1 if you don’t include any Bruisers, Hordes, Leaders, or Solos
- +2 for a harder or longer fight
Then spend your Battle Points to add an adversary to the encounter:
- Spend 1 point for each group of Minions equal to the size of the party
- Spend 1 point for each Social or Support adversary
- Spend 2 points for each Horde, Ranged, Skulk, or Standard adversary
- Spend 3 points for each Leader adversary
- Spend 4 points for each Bruiser adversary
- Spend 5 points for each Solo adversary
Environments do not affect your battle points.

Adversaries and environments in your encounters can also be edited so that you can fully customize your encounters to your heart’s content. The edit, quantity, and delete buttons can be found at the bottom of each adversary or environment.
New Campaign Dashboard
Campaigns now have a brand new look with the much improved Campaign Dashboard. This new view lets you open only the panels you want to see and close the ones you don’t need so that you aren’t distracted and can focus on the story!
- Left Panel: the characters panel lets you see quick summaries or character sheet previews of the characters in your campaign
- Right Panel: the notes panel lets you take public or private notes as well as manage the items in your homebrew vault
- Top Panel: the fear panel lets you manage fear and countdowns (tip: you can make fear visible on your player’s character sheets in the settings)
- Bottom Panel: the encounter panel allows you to load an existing encounter or create a new one from scratch. And quickly swap to another encounters as needed

Dice Log
The 3D Dice Roller now has an improved look as well as an integrated Dice Log feature that shows you recent rolls you made. If your character is added to a campaign, those rolls are automatically shared with other members of the campaign so that you can see each other’s rolls.
